Why Rear Axle Kit For MX5?
The stock MX5 axle is too short to fully engage the OEM axle block on the nut side, and the oversized axle block bore allows unwanted movement between the axle and block. The Warp 9 Rear Axle Kit starts with a completely redesigned axle and axle block system that eliminates slop and creates a much stronger, more precise fit.
The Warp 9 axle is longer than stock and works with Warp 9's custom axle blocks that feature a precision-fit bore matched to the axle diameter. The axle is also keyed to the axle block, preventing rotation and allowing wheel removal and installation using only a single 17mm socket.
Warp 9's billet axle blocks feature machined locating steps that interface directly with the ridges cast into the OEM swingarm. This creates a significantly more secure and accurate fit than the stock axle blocks, improving wheel alignment and reducing movement under load.
The axle blocks also utilize a captive adjuster design. Unlike the OEM setup, turning the adjuster bolts positively moves the axle block forward or backward, allowing for smooth, precise chain adjustments without fighting loose components.
